Professor Zhang's research focuses on economic evaluations of health policy and health insurance markets, with a focus on pharmaceutical policy. Her research has been published in leading medicine, health policy, and economics journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Health Affairs, Health Services Research, American Economic Review, and has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and on National Public Radio. She has received several funding from the U.S. Institute of Medicine, the U.S. National Institutes of Health, the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality, Commonwealth Foundation, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Inmaculada Hernandez is a PhD student in Health Services Research and Policy at the Department of Health Policy and Management.  She earned a Pharmacy degree from the University of Navarra, Spain and she completed her clinical traineeship in London. She will earn a M.S. in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics in December 2013 from the University Pompeu i Fabra, Spain. Prior to joining the group, she studied pharmaceutical price regulation models and mechanisms of copayment from the perspective of public health systems. She is especially interested in value-based health insurance design and the study of patterns of use of treatments with high evidence.

Fatih received his Bachelor's degree in Economics from Sabanci University, Istanbul in 2010. Prior to beginning the PhD program, he focused on competition policy and market regulation, earning a Master's degree in this field at Barcelona Graduate School of Economics. Later on, he received M.A. degrees in Economics from Sabanci University and in Business Law from Bilgi University. During his time in Istanbul, he also worked as a competition policy consultant at a boutique consultancy firm, regulatory affairs specialist at a major telecom company and data analyst at a private hospital. He is especially interested in health policy and economics, health insurance marketplace, and secondary data analysis.

Seo Hyon Baik is a senior statistician in the Pharmaceutical Economics Research Group. He earned an MS in Statistics from Texas A&M University and received a PhD in Statistics from the University of Pittsburgh. He oversees several research projects and develops innovative statistical methods to guide the analyses in the group projects. His research interests include statistical applications to health outcomes and pharmaceutical economics. He is particularly interested in identifying causality between pharmaceutical policies and medication use and subsequent health outcomes.
